Dear Sir,
When asked to give my level of qualifications I am stuck because they are First Class Steam And Diesel Engineering granted by the BOT/MOT or whatever they are called nowadays.

I'm no feminist mate, but seriously - it's "Dear Sir or Madam", and in that case it needs to be signed "Yours faithfully"
dear sir or madam,
i deeply regret my question and the construction of my sentences.
it is i who have strayed purely by the accident of age into some future era where sarcasm is both socially and politically acceptable but indeed demanded.
needless to say i shall not bne asking any more questions on this page for who one earth wants to reply to an old man who, it was suggested recently, should have been terminated at the age of 29 before he became a burden to society.
here am i still working and looking away back to seventy
as sir winston s. churchill said, "up with this pedantic nonsense i shall not put!".
goodbye both madams and sirs
yours sincerely and faithfully,
