Has anyone used this product to stop their cat urinating in inappropriate places and did you find it effective? Would you recommend the spray or the diffuser? Many thanks.

It new ish! She wee'd on our bed in the middle of the night once about 3 weeks ago. Didn't do it again, so thought no more of it. The night before last she did it again, and last night she did it twice! I'm running out of duvet covers! She is eating and drinking normally and playing with my other kitten fine. It's strange, she doesnt do it anywhere else and only seems to do it on my side of the bed. During the day she goes in her litter tray no problems. It all seems very strange....
how old is the cat peeing?
in the first post you didn't mention the kitten! when did it arrive -is your cat male/female - need lots more info to offer advice.
I had this problem with one of my male cats. As soon as I got him neutered, the problem stopped.

A friend of mine has used feliway and says it stops her cat from weeing in the area where it has been used, but the cat just moves on to another area of her house where feliway hasn't been used.

More info would help us give you better advice though.

Hi, thanks for the advice so far! We have two kittens, both around 5 and a half months old. They are both female, believed to be from the same litter, so both arrived at the same time. I can't think of any changes that have happened that may have upset her and neither have been spayed. The vet advised to get it done at six months old so that will be happening soon.
Getting them done will hopefully sort it.

Mine (or one of em any way) started it around 9 months, but both mine are male.

Wait till they get neutered and see if it still happens.

In the mean time, the feli way may help, but i just kept washing my duvets till they got neutered.

I dont like the idea of using anything medicinal, if i don't have to.
ahhh.... sounds as though your babies are growing up - sooner he has the snip the better!

I think she may be in season. She is making this awful whining noise constantly and dragging herself along the carpet and when you stroke her she crouches down, sticks her bum in the air and the tail goes to one side, and she sometimes 'growls' at my other kitty when she goes near her. Is this normal 'in season' behaviour? And would that explain the weeing? Sometimes it's big puddles and other times is just a little spot. Thanks for the advice so far!
She's definitely in season. Suggest having them both spayed as soon as the season is over.
Question Author
How long is the season likely to last?
Usually about a week.

My kitten had her op about 3 weeks ago - strangely enough, she had wee'ed in the paper recycling a couple of times before she was done - don't think she has done it since. She has been getting outside now, but still comes rushing in to use her tray and straight back out again
Emz, be really careful that she doesn't manage to get out, now that she's in season it will be her absolute goal in life to get out and mate. There's something to be said for getting a female spayed at 5 mths before they've had a chance of going into season.
