We've got a WWII day coming up at work. The children and staff are dressing up 1940's style and I want to put my hair up in victory rolls. I've already got the dress and shoes :)

Anyway, does anyone know what the sponge/wire roller type things are called that you can use to keep your hair in place? A bit vague I know, but I've searched high and low and still can't find them - or what they're called!

Can any one help me out?

Many thanks :)

If you type Hairdo Victory roll into Google Lore you get lots of YouTube hits with videos of how to do this . The thing they actually used was called a hair rat .

That's brilliant, thanks everyone x

I'd already checked how to create the look on youtube but for some unknown reason, I didn't pick up on the fact that the sponges were called rats! *rolls eyes*

Thanks :)
