I have been asked to build a brick wall out the front of someone' house.

when quoting, I know how to work out how much materials are needed to for job but would like to confirm that the quote will be:-

The price of the materials
The labour/daily rate
Total sum plus V.A.T? Is this correct?

Hmm, somewhat of a bizarre question.
Most customers will want a price for the complete job so the cost (sic price) of the materials to you may be somewhat irrelevant to the customer.
Most customers will want a price for the complete job so your daily rate is somewhat irrelevant. The customer will want to pay for a finished wall at a competitive price - not have no control on how many days it may take you.
If you are VAT-registered with HMRC, you must charge VAT at 15% onto your quoted price. You would know if you are VAT-registered, and you would surely know to do that also. So I guess you are not VAT-registered so there is no need to worry - you should have an advantage over a VAT-registered business.

Ok I'm not V.A.T registered so I dont have to worry about that, so how do I price the job then?

Well it seems that it's; cost of materials plus your labour.Bear in mind that if you're not VAT registered you can neither charge it nor claim it on your materials.

You work out the materials plus how many days it will take you, times what you'd like to be paid.
If it is a competitive situation you might lose the job if you quote too high; if you are desperate for the work you might be willing to do it for less money each day.
It's called the rules of competition.
If the customer is an idiot who only gets one quote you might get away with it.
