Have you tried snail cream?

Has anyone tried Elicina? It's a cream manufactured in Chile using the slime of large snails. It's known to heal cuts and abrasions quickly, reduce facial lines and acne scarring.

Have I just fallen for another marketing scam or is it true?

No - apparently there's some evidence to support the theory, but how well it works is another thing.

Could be, Jenga, but preparations made from snails've been known to help with medical conditions, and also those working with them are said to find their hands become nice and soft. As Velvetee says, their slime's known to heal abrasions quickly - so it's worth a try, if only for the softening effect.

I just have to tell you all that when looking at the recent post box which has tiny print, I thought the question was "Have you tried ANAL cream" I had to look really closely to see it. I am having a good laugh (all by myself) at this!!!

I haven't tried it, but a friend I chat to on line has and claims it has helped reduce her wrinkles. As we don't meet very often, and I'm the kind of idiot male who never notices wrinkles anyway, I can't verify that though

Seriously - there's some doubt as to whether it actually helps to get rid of wrinkles, but it probably makes a great moisturiser!

I've been using it for about a month, but I'm not sure if it's the genuine stuff, I got it from Ebay. The texture is strange, takes a long time to rub in, almost like rubbing soap onto dry skin.

I haven't heard of the brand you are trying, I have been using one called Derma Silk 5 Minute Face Lift (from the health food store) - LOVE it. It works right away, you can feel the tightening, and I use it under my fave day cream (SBT Seabuckthorn Berry Cream, super rich). This one it very very light and absorbs super quickly, dries right away and off you go. It was weird at first knowing it was snail slime, but the results are tremendous in my case. Hope that helps somewhat.

My daughter in law is Chilean. She bought me some crema de caracol (snail cream) when I was over there. I used it to get rid of my wrinkles (the jury's out on whether it worked - it was a lovely relaxing holiday and I came back with less pronounced worry lines and a sun tan....) but I used it on a bit of skin that had been itching and bleeding for about 20 years. It went and a year later it's not come back. I gave some to my sister. The skin around her fingernails was sore and flaking. After using the cream her fingers are like new. A boy with bad acne scarring took some - I'm waiting for feed back. My sister in law went "yuk". She's vegetarian. I met a lady yesterday who used some 6 months ago on sore skin. It worked for her and she asked for some for her daughter.
It's really popular in Chile. It comes in loads of varieties. I've tried handicraft stuff with only 3 natural ingredients to factory produced stuff with lots of ingredients (probably to make it last longer than the 30 months the law demands.)
The feel of the creams vary with what the base the snail slime is mixed with. One was vaseline and one was emu oil. One was very creamy/milky and one was quite stiff.
I'd say if you have tried everything else and are feeling desparate - give it a go.
