Hi, I posted a question about my Vauxhall Corsa revving really high when i start it up. I have checked the throttle cable, and there seems to be nothing wrong with it, and like I said, it revs to the max and only stops when I turn the engine off. Does anyone have any ideas of what it could be, I can't drive it to a garage because before I get to a garage, the engine will have blown.

Thanks

Pete

hi chas2008, do you know where this is situated on a corsa?
its near the cable. a little balck box which is held in by 2-4 screws. i paid 90 quid for it and ftted myself. its not hard, just sdiconnect and then replace, easy as a light bulb

Also, I forgot to mention, before i had the problem with the high revs, my engine management light used to come on now and again, and when the car was idleing at low revs, the engine would cut out and stall in effect, could the problem be linked?
