A pose, from a picture???

I have seem several poses, of people, Elton John & Ru Paul in one of EJ's videos & also in Rocky Horror P S to name a couple. The pose is of an old farming couple & an American barn behind. The man has a pitch fork & the wife has grey hair & a centre parting tied back....My question is where does this pose come from, I keep thinking I MUST be of a picture. Can anybody help?
