Polenta puzzler

Can anyone explain what I should do with polenta?

Add loads of garlic and parmesan for flavour. Take 1 pint of milk, 2 garlic cloves, peeled and crushed, 5oz of instant polenta, 3oz of grated parmesan and 1oz of butter. put the milk in a large pan, add 1 pint of water and the garlic and bring to boil. Add polenta and one tsp of salt anf cook, stirring continuously for about five minutes, until all the water has been absorbed. Remove the pan from the heat, stirring all the time, add parmesan and butter. Season with salt and pepper and serve immediately.
