My wife used my Amex over the phone without my knowledge
11 Answers
My wife booked a holiday over the phone with my card and I've just found out. We had been discussing it but I hadn't decided, got leave from work etc.
I thought a company had to speak to the cardholder?
She paid the deposit, which I know is supposed to be non returnable and the holiday isn't until Dec but is there any way I can approach getting my money back? Ideas welcome

This is all pretty simple, I'm not sure why it's gone off at a tangent about wive's independence, etc.
At the end of the day she either had your permission to use the card or she didn't. If she did then there's no problem (though it's probably technically an abuse of the card because you aren't supposed to let someone else use it). If she didn't then she committed fraud but the only way to get your money back is to report her for it which will inevitably lead to a criminal investigation and potentially prosecution. I guess you don't want that.
