The film young victoria has just been released, why oh why do they make her so stunning, in reality she wasnt a looker!, i am talking about queen victoria here, not mrs beckham!!!

Mnay people make the mistake of thinking victoria always wore black and was short and fat.
She did in the latter years of her reign.
But she was queen for 50 years so a very long time .As a young queee she was pretty and very domineeering.
I believe norman st jonn stevis the politician has the biggest collection of queen victoria memorabillia and is a renowned authority on her too.

They still had to be a good dipiction Lofty as they'd also get in trouble for that too. They'd be accused of poking fun etc... Some of these royals are terribly sensitive about slights on their looks and even one done to make them look good could potentially irritate.
Same for poetry actually... Lord Rochester got in to an awful lot of trouble for his poem about the then king, (I think it was a Charles or an Edward but don't remember). Mind you, he was a rather naughty chappie so he probably deserved it!
