Puffy Eyes/Bags under eyes!
15 Answers
Beginning to notice a few things lately which I'm getting conscious about and turn to you all for advice or recommendations. I'm suffering from bags under my eyes, I'm getting older now (early 40's) and know this is all part of the aging process, but want suggestions or ideas of how to slow the process down or a good disguise (other than a full facial mask!) I won't do surgery of any sort so that is out the question. I've had a couple of people suggest putting cold used teabags on my eyes for 10mins each night to reduce the bagginess, willing to try most things I've been doing this for only 2 days so far, but waiting for any visible results, though not expecting miracles. Can anyone suggest any good 'old wives tales', anything you may have tried and it worked? Thanks.

I find it quite greasy though so tend to apply it at night rather than the day under make up.
I bought one of those ganier roll on things which I use pre-make up. Can't say I noticed the difference visibly but it does feel lovely and cooling when you put it on.
A decent makeup base (Gosh in Superdrug do a good primer and they often have 3 for one offers) and a good light reflecting concealer.
A liquid one is best, matching your foundation. It should be dabbed on and dabbed in for the best result then gently set with some powder, preferably with a light brush so it's not too heavy.

As promised here is the article and advice I read up on. Please be careful when using it appears many have with no problem whatsoever but keep out of eyes at all costs! Also a dab of toothpaste on that spot that appears at a time when you least need it (as if we ever do) will get rid of it in quick time by shrinking it. Hope this helps.......................x
This is a tip that is true - hemorrhoid or pile cream (eg Preparation H) contains something that tightens up the skin - which is why the bags under your eyes temporarily disappear.
Be warned - you need the original version with the active ingredient in (LYCD = yeast cells and shark oil (so not for vegetarians and vegans then!), not the newer gel that has witch hazel (Hamamelis) which does not have the same effect.
The US has removed the active ingredients that make it work because too many people were having reactions to it when using it on their eyes (FDA demanded this), but UK and Canada still have the original formula.

Dollychris; thank you very much for your advice and very informative. Can I ask what reactions some people had to the active ingredient which the US have now removed from the cream? Also have you used it and did you find it worked ok?
To everyone else, thank you very much... I will try the cucumber too, sounds like a good cheap alternative. Might even invest in a cool gel eye mask.

Hello Mustang Lady,
Have researched this before and to be honest the jury is out - works for some and not for others. Must admit i don't use this very often - just if i'm particularly washed out from a hard week and need to look 'improved' for a special occasion but I have sensitive skin and not been affected at all by any irritation. I'd say be careful not to get in eyes. Have just found this link which is interesting with mixed views. I'm lucky to have good skin with not many wrinkles but like most of us always willing to try a product that lightens, tightens and brightens (sound like an Advert). Read up first and see what you think. I use the tiniest amount and like Jenna 1978 use a good primer under makeup (Smashbox face primer) and M & S do a brilliant light reflecting concealer by Per Una at about 9. Hope I haven't bombarded you but the link is worth reading up on. Also as much water as you can drink helps loads.xx

Hi Mustang Lady , I'm not sure if this helps but are you putting eye cream under your eyes because i find if i do this i have bags under my eyes . I read a beauty tip saying only put a tiny bit of eye cream on the bone under your eyes and gently tap it , Now i do this and after a few days under my eyes look really different
