Drinking Water

Is there a difference between Filtered water (using a water jug filter) and Softened Water (from mains water softener unit) ?

dont know davey we have fabulous soft water in scotland, dont need no filters, when i lived in yorkshire, yes legend i did, the water was so full of limescale!!

Filtered water removes any bits (very SMALL bits) that are floating around in it....Softened water should NOT be drunk for some reason or other, thats why when a softener is fitted the main tap for drinking and cooking water is not connected to the system... Hope this helps...John

We've got one of those jugs fitted with a filter...water tastes the same...... I don't bother using it anymore! I wonder if it helps too!!

Filtered water is filtered of limescale and certain metals. Softened water has been softened with salt then a filter.
