I have had a discomfort on my rightside of the lower part of my rib-cage since October last year. I sought medical help and had scan for liver, kidneys, bladder as well as blood tests- to no avail.
I was also sent to have a colonoscopy done, which I did and biopsies taken and am awaiting results but dont expect they will find anything like all the other tests.
I do suffer with IBS but this feels different to the usual symptoms and I am aware the discomfort is there and have stopped exercising because of this. Any suggestions would helpful as I am now seeking holistic medicines and wondered if it is a twisted bowel or stress related.

might it be gallbladder problems? I have gallstones and under my right ribcage used to bother me quite a lot
Depending on your age, past history, how much you drink or smoke, most likely to be muscular in nature, or related to your digestive system (bowels or biliary system). Suggest you go on a low-fat diet/lose weight/stop alcohol and cigarettes and relax - if it was anything serious they would have found it by now.

Thanks for your suggestions. Have started to watch what I eat and not eat after 8pm at night to see if this helps. I'm in my early forties and have had IBS for approx 15 years so usually know what flares it up... like a night out with the girls and a few bottles. Although I dont smoke and only drink occasionally having learnt these last few months to leave the alcohol alone. My doctors gave me antacid tablets to try to no avail. I work and am full time mum so will try to find time to relax which is why I'm looking into reiki treatments
You could take your keys out of your pocket before you go asleep...!

Sorry, couldn't resist.

But on a related note - have you actually looked into whether this is caused by your mattress? You could be lying in an uncomfortable position for a third of your life and not realising it, as the discomfort is there all the time?
could be musculoskeletal inflammation or fybromalgia, ive had both of these, took a long time to work out what it was, mainly caused by stress in my case. hope you get it sorted soon!
As Cazzz says, could be gallbladder. Is it worse after meals? Google cholecystits and compare symptoms!!!!
