Yes. Why would you think it might harm them?

Cats are natural meat eaters.

Just wanted to see what people thought before I go and give the cat some, to then find out later im poisoning it!
They cant have Tuna because of to much zinc (or some thing like that) so didn't know if there may be some case the same.
Surely its better to be a responsible owner than not?
Cooked liver is fine.

It's the raw liver you have to be careful about. Not the liver it's self, you understand, but yourself.

Extreme care must be taken when feeding it to your furry as, quite often, the aforementioned furry will not stop at just eating the liver, but will, in a frenzy, inadvertently, start on your hand.

The furry does not mean to do this, but such is their love of raw liver they eat it so fast your fingers can be chomped before said liver even makes it to the floor.

And it pays to wear several pairs of jeans whilst cutting the up the liver to try and avoid being shredded by claws. And earplugs wouldn't go amiss either.

My cat adores liver, but prefers it raw. I tend to buy pigs or ox though as he's less keen on lamb's! I don't give it to him very often and see it more as a treat. He paces about making weird 'MEH' noises and pulls the most evil faces with the anticipation. Amusing, but quite vile too!

That is quite amazing! Suppose I thought I had to cook it like you would a kids!! You learn some thing new every day!
My cat is running around like mad now, just gave her some raw! Thanks guys
your cat is a carnivore - it will not die if it gets raw meat - the arguement is, we pump so many chemicals, hormones and additives into out meat that maybe its better to cook it before ingesting it. Can't help thinking the same applies to kittie. A rabbit caught from the wild - ok- an intensively raised beastie is a different matter. However, kittie will probably survive - generation before her have. what a nice person you must be to ask.
Awww. Thanks for the 3 star rating wildchild!

Tuna is fine to give furry's too. I give the empty tin with the juice whenever I buy it.

Moderation in all things - furry's as well as humans.
Try lambs hearts as a treat as well.
Just found this:

Occasionally, a cat will then stop wanting to eat normal cat food, and they make it clear to their owner that they want nothing other than raw liver. In the short term, this may be fine, but after a few weeks, serious problems can arise. Liver contains high amounts of Vitamin A, which is good in small doses, but which can be toxic if consumed at high levels. If cats eat liver every day, they soon start to suffer from a condition known as Hypervitaminosis A. The bones of their back start to fuse together, causing a painful arthritic condition. These cats are often so addicted to liver that it can be very difficult to make them eat anything else. In extreme cases, they may even need to be fed normal food through a tube until they can be persuaded to start eating a standard diet again.

That is very interesting lankeela! Thanks for that.
I often feed my two pigs liver about once a month as it acts like a 'cleanse' for there bowels. Much like it does for us. But I do cook it first as much as the stench is awfull!
