"Would you like cash back?"
"Did you bring your own bags?"
"Are you in the car park?" etc. etc
I also hate it when the cashier puts the conveyor belt on and everything piles up at the end because they are scanning quicker than I am packing because that's the one question they didn't actually ask!

Now you have to supply your own bags from home - the checkout assistants don't have to ask 'would you like any help in packing' , which I always said yes, then that slowed things down - now they throw your shopping through at speed . I always say, unless you want me to have a heart attack, please SLOW DOWN !!

You get asked in ours if you would like any help packing. I politely respond "No thank you, but could you send things down slowly please". So then the cashier (I am sure) makes a concerted effort to chuck things down the conveyor at lightening speed so my "organised packing" turns to chaos.
I therefore very pointedly ignore said cashier until I have finished packing before I even consider paying. They can't send someone else's stuff down while mine is still in a pile, so they might as well wait anyway.
Thus I have become the annoying old witch in front of you.

Is it only me that seems to get stuck behind someone who has goods that do not scan properly, something that needs changing, dozens of coupons which invariably needs discussing with the cashier, can't find their clubcard, who is holding up the queue whilst waiting for their partner/friend to get a forgotten item, argues about the bill with the cashier instead of going to customer services, when the cashier buzzes for assistance she has to do it several times before someone come sauntering over? Once I was so infuriated by the last example after what seemed an age, that I left everything on the conveyor belt and walked out. It was not my usual supermarket so they would not have recognised me again.
I was once in Morrisons directly behind a lady and her daughter who had a conveyor full of shopping. Shopping went through they packed everything then started looking for purses counted out the money, they then produced coupons which caused a delay, thenm it was found some of them were not valid. They then paid.
THEN the woman asked for 60 cigarettes which the cashier would need to send a runner for, the cashier agreed.
Much to the embarresment of my daughter I then walked out leaving a conveyor full myself.
