I believe there is one true God who has always had the ability to delegate really really well and used mere mortals from day one and those that achieved greatness he elevated to a God like hierarchy that the ancients followed and developed. We follow a similar path.

well I really believe that as humans we have to have a God to follow, whether it is a sporting hero, a pop star or a religious icon, in 3000 years time there will be myths and legends about the people we have worshipped, imagine tryiong to study the life and work of george best eh?

The religion you learn young is the value your parents choose for you. It forms your initial psyche. As you age your knowledge expands, thru others influence, and you can assess your values with an informed mind. Religion offers a community with similar beliefs to support you and family.

We all need to belong in our chosen community, be it a church/football club or pub.
