I need to undo the u-bend/trap under my sink there is a slight blockage but the two screw parts that are holding it on are pretty tight - can anyone recommend something to loosen these?

Hi queries, have you tried using a cloth as often the hands slip and you can't get a good grip. Otherwise use an adjustable spanner but only use the minimum of force so that you don't break it.

But... before you use extra force, try running hot water through the drain for about 5 minutes. This often loosens the fitting enough for easier removal...

And put on rubber gloves for a good grip.
