Any help here will be greatly appreciated, I have had a virus and after running both AVG and Avast I canno longer log on. Whereas previously I would turn on the computer and my desktop would appear with my icons now I get the welcome page with my name alongside the welcome sign. When I click my name to log on I get a message to say it is loading my personal settings immediately followed by a message saying 'logging off'' Is there any way I can bypass this page and get straight back to my desktop? I am running XP home edition

Thanks

I might not be able to help but I will ask the questions which I would expect to be useful to anyone who will.

What type/make of computer is it?
What service pack of XP are you on?
How far into the boot up does it get?
What happens when it fails?
Are you certain you had a virus?
I don`t know the answer to your question, but avg and avast are both antivirus programmes, you should only ever have one, as they can conflct against each other.
