If a guy tries to make you laugh (constantly) does it mean that he fancies you or is he just being a clown?

Is he doing it as if he's hoping to impress you or get some other favourable reaction out of you? Is he accompanying this with any other flirtatious behaviour? Maybe we should consult the Flirtmeister, sft42, for his advice . . .

well there's this irish guy who walks into a bar and says......no seriously, i have always used humour as an icebreaker not being very good at the whole chatting up malarky but some guys are just a laugh if it's one guy your asking about and not just a general query then why don't you take the initative and ask him if he'd like to go out for a meal or similar, if he does like you he'll be so happy and relived you've took the lead you'll have him eating out of your hand. BUT i'm sad now i thought i had used my charms to good effect on you :>( still i'll see you at the convention anyway (new boyfriend or not)
I spend as much time as possible making people around me (men and women) laugh. if I like someone I joke around with them but this doesn't mean that I fancy them - I guess a part of it is a flirtatious thing but no more than that. sft42 best thank his lucky stars I can't make the convention as I reckon I'd be competing big style for the flirtmeister title!!

Boog certainly doesn't speak for the majority of men. some may have the confidence to just ask straight out but a LOT of guys will be very shy about dating, rejection is a terrible thing (believe me i know) and it's a burden being expected to do the chasing which is why i suggested taking the lead. and goody beenee i'm still in with a chance then am I? i await our meeting next march with baited breath and each day seems to drag until then like the endless ebb and flow of the tides (is that flirty enough simon?).
