Lino problem

Some wet newspapers had stuck to the kitchen floor and the print from the paper has welded itself into the lino. Ive tried every cleaning solution to no avail. Any suggestions?

cellulose thinners available in halfords may take it off, but it could ruin the lino. test it on a non visible part

Don't use cellulose thinners! You could try paraffin, but you may have to use an abrasive as well, like a green pot-scourer and Cif or Ajax. I'd hope your lino is the real stuff, where the pattern goes all the way through, and isn't just printed on, or you could scour through it.
