Someone hands you a sealed envelope. Inside is the exact day, date, and time of your death, even the cause of your death. In all honesty, would you open the envelope?. I just wouldn't have the bottle !!!.

I am not a religious person.  However, I agree wih ALLO in that it would drive me insane if I knew and I wouldn't enjoy my remaining life at all.

No.  I say this following involvement with two people who have been given some months to live. I see what it has done.  When there's no hope at all of a cure, people become so destabilised they can't enjoy the remainder of time, as we like to think we would if we were in that situation.  What is the point of anything, they think?  What joy in a world tour, blowing the last of your money, or shopping for things which you know will be here when you are gone?  How can anyone not be bitter, jealous, and depressed.  Anyone ought to think very carefully before opening such a cruel envelope!

This may sound weird but for years I've had the feeling that I know where but not when I will die. During that time I've moved and now live 250 miles away (used to live 5 miles away). That leaves me wondering, if I'm right about the location and could presumably avoid going there if I want to, then will I die by suicide?

I'd open it and then spend the rest of my time worrying about it, going from thinking it won't happen to going crazy thinking "sh1t, i only have .... amount of time left". But then i'm a born worrier.

corganiser, i've always had a feeling i'm gonna die young, but it's not made me change my life in any way. To answer your questoin, you don't know what's going to happen in the future. Some unknown circumstances might take you there, although i hope not for a long time yet : )

Yes, I'd open it.  I'd get my children to go in to Ladbrooks & put large bets on the exact time & date of my death.  Well, Ladbrooks have had enought out of me in the past.
