punny?
A village was being terrorised by a fearsome, bloodthirsty Viking. Each week he rowed to shore from his longboat and forced the villagers to sacrifice a maiden so he could dine on her flesh.
The people came up with a plan- surely, they reasoned, if they sacrificed two girls the Viking's increased weight would be too much for his little rowing boat and he would perish in the treacherous waters of the strait, sparing the lives of further girls.
They put their plan into action on his next visit. As they expected, he could not resist and ate both the girls. The villagers gathered on the shore as he rowed back to his longboat, but much to their dismay he crossed the strait unscathed.
Which just goes to show-
You can feed a Norse two daughters but you can't make him sink.
