I have seen 'lurking' used as a style of answerbank use - I would add 'haunting' for those who are on all the time every day.

Any other suggestions?

They just lurk and wait on certain subjects or users then appear.

'sniping' (an ebay term) could be used for those that post a single comment on a thread & then leave it.
nope id say shadowing is more like the term youre after.
some may use the word stalking, to mean the same thing tho.
How about 'sad , get a life' for those who are on all the time every day.
