can somebody tell me if i should have paid for gas connection when there was a live supply in the house ,there was no meter in the house as the former pipes had been capped of ,i had a warm front grant for central heating ,i had to contribute 1400 towards the cost, being 546 for gas connection and the rest as they had to take flue through the roof, gas company dug along side the house to reconnect into the house. the central heating people wanted the meter on the front wall of the house so as far as im conscerned this was the easy way for them. would be obliged for any information

if the warm front grant doesn't cover connection, or the total came above the grant total, then yes it's right you should have paid it.

you could look at it like this - to have had the work done without the grant would have cost you significantly more i suppose
