How to put on weight?
13 Answers
I'm 9 stone and 5' 7", ideally I would like to put on maybe half a stone more. Is there anyway that I can do this healthily without eating a whole load of junk food?
Btw, I don't want any comments saying I should be glad to be slim because some times its just as much of a nuisance as being overweight lol!
Thanks

9 stone sounds a little underweight. Your BMI works out at around 19.7 which puts you in the normal range.
Perhaps your body type dictates you will always be naturally lean and may never gain weight. You could be Endomorphic.
You first need to work out how many calories you are consuming daily, possibly you are not eating enough. The average woman needs 2000 calories per day to sustain current weight. Keep a food diary for a week charting everything you are eating, including calorie and fat content.
If ou find you are not eating enough, increase your calorific inake, particularly your carb consumption, be sure to consume some fats too, but preferably not too many foods high in saturated fat content.

I imagine weight watchers charts are primitive and date back to when they first began.
I always tell clients that weight is personal to the individualand not to go by the ideal weight charts. It's how someone feels about themselves, regardless of what the scales say.
BMI and Body Fat percentages are important, however, even with BMI, a person can be muscular so will naturally be heavier, but may come up as overweight on the charts, so it's not without it's flaws.
