It is a little known fact that at the time Shakespeare was writing Romeo and Juliet, two other playwrights were also working on their own versions of the play. Whilst Shakespeare took time thinking about the plot, script and details of the characters the other two playwrights hurried to finish their versions and get them on the stage with the presumption that the first to do so would gain fame, fortune and bask in public admiration. However, as we know it was Shakespeare who wrote Romeo and Juliet, and gained all the glory for doing so, proving the old saying-
