porn channel on freeview

have you seen channel 97?
It's a pay to view porn channel, which I have no problem with - each to their own and all that!
What I do object to, is the lurid and graphic descriptions on the info page as you scroll through the channels.
My daughter is almost 8 and delights in reading anything and everything she can.
I am really worried that she will stumble across this, and think the decription should be taken off. If I tell her not to look at 97, then curiosity will probably get the better of her!
My question then: Who do I complain to?

Mmmmmmhhhhhhhh......Mr cynical Devil's Advocate 'ere:
Why bother drawing your daughter's attention to the porn channel in the first place? It only lets her know of its existence.
I realise how curious kids can be but, for example, I have access to all those types of channels as well but I never scroll around there because I never use or subscribe to the channels.
However, I do agree that they shouldn't use the types of "advertising" for them which you describe. No need to. I'm sure anyone with a brain in their head realises exactly what's "on show" without ramming it in our faces?
Anyway, I'm sure that if and when your little one "finds" such things you'll find a suitable way of explaining to her. Kids prefer honesty - they're not daft.
Good luck !

i know what you are saying, paraffin, that's exactly what I meant in my question. She loves scrolling through the menu, telling when something is on and at what time, she could easily get to that channel. CBBC is channel 70. I let her do so, as she loves to read anything, and it's good for her to read different styles.
Have you read the info? It really is highly detailed, and where they can't say the whole word, they miss some letters out, like a bl00dy crossword!
I also hope my 15 year old hormone-oozing son doesn't find it!!

I mentioned this to my missus who reckons that you should either be able to get some kind of softwear to prevent kids tampering, or else there's some kind of childproof doo dah which might do the job.
Sorry about the non-technical language !
As far as your "hormone-oozing son" goes, just chop his hands off ! (Joke !!!!!!)
