I have just been reading about the Fritzl case in Austria - I still can't believe his wife knew nothing about what he was doing in the cellar. Good god did'nt the woman suspect when they went shopping, he was buying huge amounts of extra food - what did she think he was doing in the cellar - stamp collecting !!

It beggars belief how stupid some women are - even if she had a tiny suspicion - knowing children (her own children) were involved she should have acted.

I totally agree. It doesn't add up at all her being unaware of what was going on. She is not as culpable as her peverted husband, but should be brought to question also.

I can understand how she may have been afraid of him and any consequences if she came forward, but she should still be brought to some account.

That was my meaning but fear can make you shut the suspicion from your mind.

I'm sure she didn't think her daughter was down there. You could never imagine that the man you were married to was doing such unimaginable things.

Most women (myself included) have a sixth sense or are suspicious of situations that are not the norm - I honestly cannot believe you can live with someone as evil as him without the smallest doubt.

Was she not worried about her daughter disappearing when the grandchildren turned up on her doorstep with a note asking for her to look after them.

Mind you Craft - the Yorkshire Ripper was'nt killing them at home, so I suppose his wife could argue she knew nothing once he left the house.

Whereas Fritzl was up to no good in the cellar, making, I would have thought, quite a lot of noise.

I would have been onto him, as soon as that cement ready mix lorry turned up !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
