I think the Hollies may have recorded it in the sixties.

Nah, The Hollies never did it. Twas the Coasters in the 60s

The Paramounts had a hit with it in 1964

According to 'The Hollies Lyrics Page' The Hollies did record Poison Ivy but it was not a hit single. Possible a 'B' side or an album track. Interestingly, it was written by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller who wrote many of Elvis' hits.
