I am not sure this the the correct place to post my query but can anyone help please? Where can I buy something to test small silver/gold items that are not hallmarked? any help much appreciated.

Why not just take themn into a jeweller near you, and ask their opinion. Thats what I did recently. They were very friendly!

thankyou I wiil do that. but I really would like to do tests at home but do not know how to go about it.

Silver testing.
Gold is more difficult and requires the use of acids that are not widely available, though I think there may be some home-use kits that can be obtained.
