I've made a spelling mistake in my MOS Prize Crossword. I will need to tippex out 2 letters and replace them. Will this render my entry invalid?

I'm sorry to say it usually does. I always do my crosswords in pencil first, which shows my level of confidence.

Bloomin eck! Nearly everyone I've ever sent has had some sort of correction on it!!! What a waste of postage stamps....
I've heard different opinions on this, NoMercy, so don't be too despairing. Some people say that as long as it's legible it will be accepted, others that any alteration will render it void.
As these are totally opposite opinions, I tend to believe the one that suits me, ie it's OK to correct.
otherwise I, too, would have wasted a huge amount of money in postage!
:-))
Iv'e sent mine in sometimes with a correction and have never had any indication that it wouldn/t be accepted. I can't see that it would make any difference as long as it is still clear.
like filibuster I always do mine in pencil first and then ink it over.
I bought some pens that have an eraser on the end.

Thanks guys. I think it would be wise for me to do it in pencil in the future x

Thanks kev - that's good to know, given the number of entries I've submitted to date. x
The Mail on Sunday have emailed me to say that it is ok to use tippex as long as the new answers are eligible.
