Continuous bleeding

I have been bleeding (as in a period) for 6 weeks now - I started taking the pill when I started (6 weeks ago), but stopped after 4 weeks because of the continued bleeding. I have since had a course of norithesterone but this hasn't stopped the bleeding either, just slowed it down. Now I have stopped taking that, the bleeding is back to Day 1 (i.e bright red and heavy), I am v.anaemic (am taking iron) but am exhausted and now risking losing my job as I can't work. Previous blood test showed v.low iron and low fbc - what does this mean? I have seen my GP a few times, and am having another blood test next week (for clotting, fbc and iron) and waiting for a scan. I'm worried something is very wrong - is it? Any advice would be great. Ty

My friend has had the same problem, now into her 16th continous week of bleeding, had a scan and has been diagnosed with fibroids...sees a gynacologist in 2 weeks time, and has been told it can possibly be treated with drugs as opposed to needing surgery...hope this helps
rach2008....this is nothing to do with your cervix....so don't worry.
Sounds like dysfunctional uterine bleeding, but a Gynaecologist will sort this out for you.
