I am running XP Pro and I needed to perform a sys restore after being infected by a trojan virus. When I select the date and then 'next' nothing happens. Any ideas? I have cleaned the virus from the system. Never had this problem before. Cheers Dave.

I had this problem on my old XP machine. Even though the virus had been removed, it messed up my system restore. My only option was to do a "Destructive Reinstall", which basically means resetting the PC to factory condition and reinstalling all software, which also meant wiping everything on it.
I'm a little confused.... if you have cleared the virus from your system then why do you need to do a system restore??

(hello spaced, long time no see)

I don't really need to, but I might need to do one in the future!
then create a new system restore point now
your computer was infected the Trojans so all the restore point was destroyed by the Trojan.
you can't do anything

download the Trojan remover from the internet and scanned the complete scan .

for more information you can avail at the source at http://www.iyogi.co.uk

a technician will help you to remove the Trojan from your computer.
It`s more likely that the anti-virus program altered the system restore points & rendered them useless. As regards johnpol179`s advice have a look at Rojash & aN AB sub editors comments some posts up from this.
