my dot.hawkes id has been erased from the site because I finally gave knobby the response he deserved after months of abuse from him.
I have asked the ed why he felt it appropriate to remove all my answers in this category. I doubt they will return as they were obviously irrelevent contributions.

I also agree Dot...your contributions over the time I've been here have been immense, full of practical advice and information... unlike some which are just either plain nasty or full of white space - does anyone remember having to scroll through all the carriage returns that a certain user loves to post. Why ? I have no idea, but I know he likes to do them to irritate others. *shrug*... I suspect I will now get called all sorts of names - ranging from my real name to his invented names for me - just because he doesn't like me arguing back. I would never, ever, reveal on the open board his real name - I have some integrity - but I note that he has no qualms in doing this to others.

To his friends... a wee warning .... you might be next.. if you disagree with him... are you prepared ? He keeps copies of all discussions and emails and will happily regurgitate them... I just wonder how large his hard drive is to keep all this stuff ...

Dot, I sometimes stray into CB,but don't often contribute there because of the abusive stuff that gets posted in some of the threads, so don't know the history between you and knobby, just wanted to say though, I hope your genealogy answers are reinstated, you've helped me on a couple of occasions, and I'm amazed at how much you know about the subject!
Maybe you should start your own website, you could call it www.fromtheyeardot.com!

I am going to stick my toe in the water here and just say this .
Unfair to ban all your posts in here Dot. Because to be fair you have given really good input in this section .
My two nephews have been doing our family tree for yonks and with some of the info you have given on here and which I have passed on to them they have made good progress in getting back further .
I can see why you are riled .Don't take it to heart lass .You have far more intelligence than that .Stick to what you do best ,which is all this sort of thing .
Stay away from it .Ignore them .The more you retaliate the more they will goad you .Some people thrive on this sort of thing and because they are hiding behind a screen they think anything goes .Don't t keep stoking the fire and calm down :))
I always say when I see this sort of thing ....Do they behave like this in the real world ?
If they do then I pity them .

hi guys, thanks shaney and EK, and the others , I am furious that the ed has seen fit to destroy all the contributions to this topic that i have made along with lots more people who are as passionate about the subject as I am. I know that the decent folk on here are quite aware of how it led to this, hopefully it will settle now and i can get rid of all the aggro. thanks again.

Even if the Ed thought you deserved to be banned (which I didn't by the way and you have come back under a slightly different ID anyway), why delete all your very useful information. This information could be very useful to many people who would wish to refer to past answers you gave. Now it has all gone. Why? These answers on genealogy have nothing to do with personality clashes. Could the Ed answer why he saw fit to do this?
