Jayne's rugby analysis of the day.

As I understand it ...

O'Gara (outside half) is the key.

But Wales are playing 3 fast Back Row Forwards.

Stringer (scrum half) passes the ball to O'Gara ... and the Welsh Back Row flatten O'Gara.

So, instead, Ireland are playing O'Leary at scrum half. Why?

Because O'Leary is capable of picking up the ball and running at the Welsh Back Row.

The Welsh Back Row's uncertainty as to whether O'Leary will pass, or run with the ball, will make them a split second slower ...

... which will buy O'Gara enough time to decide how to play the ball.

And so Ireland will be tactically superior in the open play.

Was that good? Am I clever?

So, the betting ...

The betting shops have Ireland as 5/4 on. I'm prepared to place a big bet bet, because we all know that Ireland are going to win.

The last time Ireland won the Grand Slam in 1948, it wasn't even called the "Grand Slam" ... it was just called a "Clean Sweep". You see ... clever again.

I don't think I've ever been so excited about a game that didn't involve England.

Come on, Ireland !!!

I'm rooting for Ireland because I have a tenner that England will finish above Wales! Also I'd like the old paddies to pick up a grand slam after 60 odd years. Go paddies!
Is there anything worse than a women who thinks she can properly comment on rugby or football. Stick to hockey and netball please.

Thats a tenner down the drain then geezer. Come on Scunny!!, Brighton are going down faster than Heather Mills on a bouncy castle
Very excited that Ireland are now ahead of Wales + truly hoping they will win the Grand Slam as they have been the most dynamic team of them all! Ignore Silly Gonzo Tipsy as he is clearly off his Rocker making ridiculous comments like that that belong in the 19th century- he just shows much lack of intelligence + wit. Joggerjayne- why is there always some muppet who likes to come along to spoil a good thread?! Come on Ireland!! Also, never been so excited about a game of rugby that did not include England or Scotland! Warm wishes, Bea- rooting for Ireland too ;-)
What a thrilling close match- oh my gosh, it really was neck and neck all the way right until the last moment!! Delighted for Ireland- over the moon for them. To have waited 61 years for this moment is phenomenal- Congratulations Ronan O Gara + Brian O Driscoll + team!!
Best possible result!
A very happy bee, Bea :-)
What a game - don't think my nerves could have stood much more of that! I'm delighted that Ireland have won
well done to ireland,my brother in law paddy who sadly passed away would have very proud!!
what a game. Nailbiting stuff from beginning to end. Well done IRELAND!!!! .
I am totally annoyed by the Video referee to allow Ireland the first try.I am totally against the decision for allowing the try.I will even send an email of complaint about the controversial decision.
Mind you ,although Ireland did play well,I reckon Wales should have won it.
You should have put more welly into that last kick Stephen.
Drat, and double drat!! Oh well,at least we didn't get the wooden spoon.
So,I will be back in a mo,after sending a complaint.
If I was the Video ref,I would have disallowed the try and ask for a restart.
Although I am Welsh,I still praise the Irish for doing a great job.
sgt.rock, congrats you get the Geezer tw&t of he thread award. I win a tenner but more impotantly, it seems that Jayne was spot on, O'Gara was indeed targetted by Wales. From Expierience Jayne is very knowledgeable on Rugger, obviously you ain't. I suggest, as you are clearly in touch with your feminine side, that you have a bash at netball, clearly you know jack about mens games.

Imhotep, why was it not a try? In fact there was one try not given that clearly was. Typical Taff, trying to blame the officials. Thankfully your team were more gracious in defeat, stick to poofball mate you're better suited.
A comment for R1Geezer -

Don't you mean football?
Have you seen any Swansea City matches recently?
They have been doing well recently. So think again buddy.
If you really do mean poofball, well it takes one to know one in that case.Hah!
