is there any way to get hold of cheap or free handsets? i have 4 mobiles, all of which have at least one crippling injury/illness, and am happy to have a rubbish phone as long as it works. none of my handsets is insured, btw. my contract doesn't run out until september...

If you are on a contract, did you take advantage of a phone upgrade the last time you renewed it. If you didn`t you shuld have done so, but if you did, the replacement phone would still be under guarantee.

ah yes, but i had three other working phones at the time, and i hated the new one, so i flogged it (stupid me)

Buy out the remainder of the contract.

Virgin sell re-conditioned phones, which are just returned if the original buyer didn't like it for dsome reason - all tried and tested before being re-dispatched.  They are normall half the price and have a 6 month waranty.
