birthday party for young 7 year old girl

hi i posted this question and had some great answers(thankyou all very much) but some people asked for a little more info so here goes. She is a very girly girl who loves everything to do with magic, fairys ect.we were hoping to do it at our house and keep costs down. thought of fairy party but wondered if her friends might not be impressed and tease her.  there will be aprox five 7 year old girls plus my two.I must be mad! Any ideas would be very much appreciated!

If you are worried that a fairy theme might seem too young then how about making the theme 'magic' or 'magical creatures' then your daughter can be a fairy if she wants and if there are guests who would feel that they don't want to be fairies then they could come as someone from Harry Potter or something similar.

Ehy don't you go and have a look at somewhere like Accesorize?? pink and twinkly seems to be in not just for the littlies but for adult girlies too. If you are having boys at the party then I think that Lillabet has a point, pink and twinkly is NEVER in for boys!!

In my experience, ALL 7 year old girls like pink, fluffy, fairy etc. How about a general girly dressing up theme? Then fairy costumes will be fine, as well as princesses, feather boa'd film stars and the like.

Why not just have a "PINK PARTY". Guests must come dressed up in something pink. Make a birthday cake with pink icing, pink/red jellies and maybe even get sundried tomato bread to make pink sandwiches.  There were boys at the party too, and they all wore one pink item, even if it was just an odd sock.
