Internet Explorer error - help please!

Can anyone tell me why within a few seconds of clicking on my I.E. icon to access the internet I get an error message saying that Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close, it's really annoying as I can't get on the internet!!

Have you tried a different browser?
Did you know it's been renamed:
t'internet ?

Sounds like some spyware or something. That has attached itself  to your IE and is crashing. Run a program such as adaware. If this doesn't work, I guess firefox is the way to go. Like stevie said.

What's t'internet stevie21? mikeyp I've ran adware and checked for viruses too. The file that will be sent in the report is "app.compat.txt" if that makes any sense to anyone and it's located in my temporary interet files, but has a slightly different number before it each time I try to logon. Do you think it would it be easier to just uninstall IE6 and re-install it?
