Removing paint from carpet!

I have just painted my room, which is not bad as I have never done this before. I do note however, there are many patches of paint on the carpet which is a shallow felt one. Can anyone suggest how to remove this blue emulsion paint from my carpet? I have tried using white spirit, but this really does not seem to work.

Thanks in advance for any answers.

White spirit is for oil-based paint. Take a V.soapy mix and saturate the paint marks and surrounding area. Give the soapy a chance to work, then before it goes dry, scrub energetically with an abrasive object, brush pad, whatever you have.At the same time you should chant, not necessarily out loud;"next time I must cover what I'm not painting!!"
You may then find that you need to do the rest of the carpet!!!
Go to FullMoons link, the info there is spot on (no pun intended!!)
