Imipramine
1 Answers
I was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder about 12 years ago. For most of this time I have been taking lithium and citalopram.
My consultant has now changed my antidepressant to Imipramine. I have been on it now for about three weeks and the initial extreme tiredness has settled.
My main problem now, apart from the dry mouth and constipation and sleep paralysis/hallucinations, is that my eyesight is not as sharp as it could be and the letters appear to be moving around.
I had to give up working about 5 years ago due to memory problems etc. I work in an Oxfam bookshop two afternoons per week and now I feel impaired enough to be off 'sick' from that.
I also have PCOS (metformin) and HBP.
I am due to go back to see the psychiatrist in the next couple of weeks.
Has anybody tried this drug? If so have all the side effects settle down through time?
I was feeling miserable on the citalopram but I would rather that than feel good with blurry eyes and a bunged up bowel.
