I'm in a muddle again ( PDF) i've just bought an ext hard drive and the manual is a pdf file and i dont have anything to read it with ,
i've looked up pdf convertors and you seem to have to buy big progs to do the job ,
Is there a small uncomplicated easy to use free safe prog .i can use
I have Acrobat Reader 5 but it cannot decrypt this document ,so it tells me ,

how about the latest version of adobe reader (version 9)

foxit reader is a very small download, and should be ok for your needs.

Thank you both for your help ,i looked at them both and went for the foxit reader it looked simpler ,I always worry when they want your name and email address which adobe did ,silly i'm sure

Not so silly really, as a lot of downloads purporting to be free, then start asking for payment.
I don`t think adobe is one of these, but a big download, and unnecessary for most pdf files.
I always google filehippo followed by the name of the programme I want to download, if it`s there it is safe, and free.
Must add though, I had to download some travel visa forms recently, and had to install adobe to open them. I used it then uninstalled.
