Paul Gascoingne
I thought he came over very well on his interview on GMTV this morning, he appears to be getting to grips with himself at last and blaming himself and not others, he was slightly incoherrent but apparently this was a side effect of his medication which he readily told Phillip Scholfield, the honesty was refreshing, he had always paid out of his own money to go to rehab and his take on that was it was only himself he was hurting when it went wrong again but apparently this time there were key figures featured in his treatment like the PFA and Tony Adams among others, he says he owes them and himself to move forward and to show the people who did not give up on him.......I really hope he means it

Millions of kids throughout the world would give anything to have the footballing talent Gazza and Best had, yet neither was/has been able to cope with the pressures of fame.
Where are all Gazza's buddies now in his hour of need? You know, those pictured with him at the height of his fame? Don't see too many of them with him nowadays. Danny Baker, Chris Evans etc etc, where are you???

Alochilism is a terrible disease. It matters little how much money or promise you have if you have the addiction you will feed it somehow. You have now care of what it will do to you nor what it will do to your familly and friends of which usually you loose.
He is one of many but , as per Jade goody, he is suffering the problem in the public light.
It will be a long uphill struggle that will last his life, however long or short this may turn out to be.
My best wishes go to him and the countless others fighting this affliction.

interesting points paraffin and young, what was very interesting from him, he wants to know who Paul Gascoingne is and not Gazza, he was revered by many as Gazza, he says he wants to move on and be Paul, to enjoy the simple pleasures like fishing, his Mum has hit out at Sheryl in a Sunday tabloid, not sure this is a good thing it may start a to-ing and fro-ing with bad consequences, if need to move forward then he must start from scratch and wipe the slate of his demons
i for 1 hope that he can put his demons behind him and move on,he gave pleasure to millions of football fans and i reckon he still has a lot to offer the game in some capacity,i would personally shake the guys hand for scoring that great goal at wembley against the jocks in euro 96....lol....seriously tho i hope he does well in whatever role he can secure within the game....
