Gonna think happy thoughts

came in to work this AM and felt incredibly ****** off (for various reasons) ...however I am going to do a wee experiment.

Going to think / say only happy thoughts. Everytime something negative comes into my mind I am going to "banish" it and replace it with something nice.

Everytime a colleague starts to gossip / backstab someone else I will steer the conversation to something more positive....

Anybody else in AB land keen to join me on this quest?

Yes, I will !!
I'm having trouble at work and try to do this anyway.
I always think of the positives my job gives me like being able to run a car and take my little boy out at the weekend.
It's getting harder and harder to go in there though a lately x
I always try to think positive. When people start back stabbing I tend to feel sorry for them as it shows they feel inadequate in some way.
good idea evedawn.............................isn't that dot a lovely woman , i think she is greeeeeeeeeat
I'm far too much of a (young) Grumpy Old Woman for this sort of thing.

If someone is annoying me I try to imagine them naked. I usually end up smirking and it drives them mad.
okay, I'll give it a go.. but if there are any other drivers on the road today I don't see it lasting :o)
From what I remember its called the 'glad game'. lol
hmmmm, not a good day to try it!!!

I'll give it a go another time!
I would but I'm naturally inclined to grumpiness and happy thoughts irk me.... ;0)
I'm with CD and Mrs O. Jolliness is very over-rated. You stick to your naffed off mood, it's far more satisfying, and if you're really lucky you'll be able to drag your work collegues down into your pit of glumness, that's always a bonus.
Keep being you Evedawn- keep up the quest + will join you with it for sure! Call myself a swan as have a long neck + when anyone throws negativity my way just shake it off like water off my back + can fly above all negativity as have much love in my life- blessed with a loving husband, fantastic friends, a most adorable pet dog, angels by my side, a very loving Christian God, live in a very caring town + have a wonderful family so there is no reason to fret about anything anyone ever says to me here or otherwise.
" He who smiles rather than rages is always the stronger."- Chines proverb". Sometimes best to ignore fools/muppets- drives them the craziest too + that also is funny ;-)( Bea is no saint)! Ummm- Those who criticise others( different to being assertive or putting bullies in their place) are those with the most fragile of egos + like you ,also pity them! Yet, find it tough when anyone criticises someone else unfairly- the need to be an advocate for others being picked on is quite strong within me. Lil 123 am rooting for you big time, too! Beatrice :-), challenged with a mysterious neurological condition yet a happy bee
Ummmm, Not always good with expressing words ( part of neurological condition of mine) what meant to say was that am with you 100%!! Echo your words Ummmm :-)
Evedawn- like anything new, it takes practice. You have to practice positivity until it becomes second nature.

When bad stuff happens you can either become bitter or better ( better is the only true empowering option) for self + all around you!

Good luck all you lovely people here :-)
Bea :-)
