Could it be that you are violating the number of posts rule that means it will not let you post??

It has happened to a lot of the regular contributors

The Ed put on a while back that so many posts in a day were allowed by each user and after that then the user would not be able to answer or post until the next day.

Oh I don't agree with the scheme but it was introduced by the old ed, and i don't know if it is still implemented.

I don't think that it had anything to do with the current problems though IMS or Netty.  In fact, I don't think it was every implemented.
