Has anyone read/is anyone reading a book by David Craig and Matthew Elliott (published only a week or two ago by Random House) called The Great European Rip-off. How the corrupt, wasteful EU is taking control of our lives?
Despite its strident title this is not a sensationalist book; every claim it makes is backed up by notes and references.
What are sensational are its revelations. The first 57 pages alone reveal so much about the tricks, fiddles and frauds that MEPs get up to, to make themselves millionaires at our expense, that I can't imagine any reader going out to vote in the EU elections in June.
There is much much more. In my view no-one should form any opinion of the EU without reading this eye-opening book.

Ask your MP and your Tory and Labour Candidates at the next Election if their Party will take us Out of Europe. Ask them if they'll allow a vote on staying in or getting out. When you've heard the answers-learn to live with Europe, you've No other choice. But,by all means try to get a Better Europe.
Would that be Matthew Elliott, Chief Executive of the right wing pressure group "tax payers Alliance" ?
And Matthew Elliot journalist (and demogogue) writer of articles for the Mail and Sunday times? Who stood against David Davis and got 135 votes?

If, of course, you'd like to give us chapter and verse of how the authors have completely misreported the fiscal behaviour of MEPs, and therefore must have forged their references, please do so. Otherwise I can only assume that you are speaking from prejudice instead of verifiable fact.

123everton, if you want a good summary of the fiscal behaviour of MEPs without the bother of reading the book, then read the full-page article about it in the Sunday Times on March 22, page 12. Probably available on the internet.
