Does anyone know anything about this diet? I am sceptical but I know a couple of people who have lost loads of weight on it. Any views?

My niece went on it ..it's over sixty quid a week and she said it made her feel ill. You have to drink vast amounts of water .
She was tired , irritable and constipated !
Mind you what suits one etc ...
She is always doing these faddy diets though and the weight goes on again afterwards. If she was really fat I could understand it ..but she isn't ....I don't think there is any quick fix ...just sensible eating and low fat food for a steady weight loss.

I was going to do this but the price put me off. The Cambridge diet is exactly the same diet and is about 45 pounds a week and you get all your food packs for he week etc, i went on this. IT does lose your weight but I found it hard to stick to because you can't eat anything but those food packs and some of the shakes are tasty, though you get completely sick of them and would rather not eat than have those. Also there are a few side effects as the shakes/soups are so heavily concentrated with vits, it causes bad breathe and going to the toilet isnt the most pleasant! THis may be good to start u off on a diet but i personally think you should do something more that you can stick to long term, you can't be on this diet forever. The kellogs diet worked a treat for me, was equally as effective and easier to stick to as you can have a few of the things you like for your main dinner, just small plate portions and 2 bowls of cereal one for breakfast and one for lunch. Heres a link to the Cambridge diet for you as itd be cheaper than Lighterlife and is practically the same ...

Hi
A lecturer at my Uni started this diet in June. She was 12 and a half stones. She is now a startling eight and a half stones. She cant recommend it enough. She looks amazing and she said that after the initial detox period, she became energised, and healthy.
I would like to think I could do it, but to not have ANY food would kill me.
I think all diets work for some people, not all suit all people
But 60 quid a week... a tad steep!!

I am in week 6 and have lost 27lbs so far, my partner started at the same time as me and he's lost 30lbs in the same time. Yes it's hard going...but if you do over eat...then having a break from food is a breath of fresh air. As for the cost? how much do you spend on food in a week? snacks? petrol station extras? crisps? we have actually found that we have saved money!!!! I feel great! loads of energy! Constipation? well you have to remember how much is going in to your body! and it may reduce the number and amount of bowel movements!!!!loL.
If you have a lot of weight to lose ( and I still have 3st 10lbs to go) this diet really keeps you motivated with big weight losses....the weekly counselling is there to help you...and you learn so much about yourself and your eating habits..I can't recommend it enough.
