The Start Bar

every time i log onto my computor windows has reset my start menu configuration, i prefer to have it at the top and with only the windows media toolbar turned on, but if i logoff or shutdown my pc the instant i start up the start bar is back in it's original postion. I am assuming the placing of the start bar is saved in the regestary, if it is does anyoner know the location? or an easier way to get it to stick. thanks

Sounds like some sort of policy is on place, are you on a network or stand alone?

i am on a network, however it is loosley a network as it is my pc and my parents one downstairs, no domainjust a regular windows workgroup

I'm not at all sure if this is your answer, but have you tried right-clicking the bar and selecting Lock the Taskbar, once you have it where you want it?
