Toner is fading to quickly after pre lightening - help!

I have naturally strawberry blond/redish hair and want to go ash blond. I have been using a pre lightener (either loreal or garnier) and then using a toner (loreal excellence or garnier nutriese)to go ash blond.

I have been getting the shade I was looking for, but the colour only seems to last for 5 or 6 days before the bright yellow colour of the pre lightener comes through and makes my hair go a banana yellow.

Does anyone know how to stop this, so that the toner lasts and the bright yellow of the pre lightener doesn't come through?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You need a stronger vol peroxide only available to salons.

Well, the toner will not dye your hair. It's used to counteract brassy tones.
After having pre-lightened, you need to put in an ash blonde dye (permanent or semi - NOT a golden tone though and NOT a metallic dye like Feria!). Then you can use the toner to maintain the colour and avoid brassiness coming through.

You can get the very strong peroxide in Sally's (Shaftesbury Ave) in London... It's a hairdressing suppliers but they also sell to the general public.. They will have everything you need.. If you live elsewhere look in Yellow Pages for a similar shop nearer to you..

For natural strawberry blonde hair, you don't need strong peroxide. The high-street version, like Born Blonde and such are more than enough. Don't go putting professional strength stuff on your head if you don't know what you're doing!!! You'll ruin your hair.
I'm a natural blonde and had been dying my hair a vibrant red for two years and I managed to get my blonde back myself, using the right products and waiting in between dyes.I DId go bright orange, bright yellow....etc but managed to do it without using "mix it yourself" professional stuff. It's a long process, but definitely worth it if you want to avoid horrible straw-like hair!
