very chesty cough

can anyboby recommend a good herbal/natural remedy for a chest cough. have tried branded stuff which works some what but not fully and I really dont want to go to the doctor yet. Thanks

If you know of an herbalist in your area, it's worth consulting him/her. They can make up a concoction specifically for your problem. A nasty 6 week cataarh/cough was cured after a few days of drinking a sort-of tea (cost a fiver but cheaper than the mountain of standard remedies that didn't touch it).
