cable tv ....ntl/virgin media box problem

i switched off my tv last night at the socket ,this morning i turned it on....coming up on the screen is- sorry to interupt ur viewing,we,re currently updating ur service,so please dont switch off ur ntl box...this will only take a short time....

thing is its been like that for an hour now !! also last month it was the same and we waited a whole night before it turned back to normal.,....any suggestions please? thanks

Hi, If you have a set-top box, plug the plug out of the back (disconnect the box), wait 20 seconds and re-connect.
It should then re-install itself via ntl.
